Be Intentional

Teachers need to know why they are doing what they are doing when they are in the classroom, otherwise they run the risk of wasting time while teaching irrelevant lessons. Everything done in a classroom has to have a purpose and a point. Therefore, teachers must continually ask themselves what they are doing and how what they are doing will be absorbed by students.  In other words teachers must be intentional.  In this section Goodwin and Hubbell detail ways in which a teacher can make the best use of their time while ensuring that their students develop deep knowledge and mastery of what they have learned and can apply it in the future.
