12 Touchstones of Good Teaching is a useful book written by Bryan Goodwin and Elizabeth Ross Hubbell.  The book is based on 12 checklist items that teachers can use in order to maintain focus and avoid becoming overwhelmed in their classes. The authors explain how to grab the attention of students, maintain high standards, create an engaging, productive, and safe classroom, and ensure lasting knowledge.  Teachers can become successful by being demanding, supportive, and intentional.  In this portion of the website I will provide a summary of each section of the book, and note any helpful tips therein.
